Mauritius is a small island in the Indian Ocean, ringed by white-sand beaches and a coral lagoon, with a warm, easy-going mix of Creole, Indian, French and Chinese cultures. English and French are widely spoken, and it's one of the safest, most relaxed islands to explore.

Trou aux Biches

The villa sits in Trou aux Biches, on the calm north-west coast — regularly named among the island's best beaches. The lagoon here is shallow, clear and protected by the reef, so it's ideal for swimming, snorkelling and paddling straight off the sand, and the west-facing shore delivers Mauritius' famous sunsets. Mont Choisy beach and the buzz of Grand Baie are both just up the road.
